Moments Wrapped in Wings: The Unmatched Love of God

There’s something profoundly beautiful about being loved by God. It’s a love that goes beyond words, beyond human understanding, and it’s a love that is always available, even when we hesitate to receive it. Sometimes we hold back, unsure if we can trust Him to truly take Lordship over our lives. We doubt whether He can really be all that we need, all that we long for. But His love—oh, His love—is patient, gentle, and unwavering. It’s like being wrapped in wings, carried through life by the One who never tires of us, even when we stray.

God calls us His own, and there is no greater intimacy than the one He offers through His Holy Spirit. To know Him, to really know Him, is to experience peace like no other. It’s not the kind of peace that comes and goes with circumstances. It’s a deep, abiding rest that settles into your soul, the kind that says, “Even in the storm, I am with you.”

Jesus Himself promised us this peace: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). The world offers temporary comforts, fleeting joys, but the peace of God is everlasting, unshakable, and grounded in His love for us.

But beyond that peace is the friendship He offers—yes, friendship with the Creator of the universe. Isn’t it incredible to think that the One who made the stars and set the earth in motion calls us friend? “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15).

God delights in us, and yes, He even laughs with us. His sense of humor is woven into the beauty of life’s unexpected moments, and when we pay attention, we can see Him smiling at us. He’s not distant or cold, but warm and close, laughing with us like a dear friend who knows us inside and out. He rejoices in our joy and walks with us through our pain. In Him, we have everything—peace, comfort, friendship, and laughter that no human relationship could ever fully match.

For those who may be hesitating to give God a chance to be Lord over their lives, I want to speak to your heart. I know it can be hard to trust. I know you’ve been let down before. But God is not like anyone else. His love is constant, pure, and filled with grace. He sees you for who you truly are, and He is not sitting on the sidelines with judgment or anger. In fact, He misses you. He’s been waiting for you, longing for you to return.

If you’ve strayed away, please hear me when I say this: God is not looking at you through the lens of shame or condemnation. The enemy has tried to convince you that you’ve gone too far, that God could never love you the same again. But that is a lie. The truth is this: “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love” (Psalm 103:8). He isn’t sitting with His arms crossed, holding your past mistakes over you. He’s running toward you with open arms, ready to embrace you and call you His own again.

There’s nothing you’ve done that can separate you from His love. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). His love covers all. His grace is greater than your doubts, your fears, your mistakes.

Brothers and sisters, whether you’ve known Him your whole life or you’re just now considering letting Him in, I want to remind you that God’s love is like moments wrapped in wings. It is gentle, like the soft flutter of a butterfly, yet strong enough to carry you through the hardest seasons of your life. He calls us His butterflies because, just like the transformation of a caterpillar, He is constantly renewing us, shaping us into something beautiful, something free.

He’s waiting for you to trust Him fully, to let go of the fears and hesitations, and to experience the fullness of His love. It’s a love that doesn’t just meet your needs, but fills every corner of your heart. And in that love, you’ll find peace, rest, laughter, and friendship that no one else can offer.

Don’t wait any longer. Don’t hesitate to give Him the chance He deserves. He’s already chosen you, already called you His own. And in Him, you will find everything you’ve been searching for.

Talk soon, xoxo <3
